Our team of individuals has a strong passion for action sports. We are excited to make your company, team or athlete look the best they possibly can. Let us do the work for you. Here at Clarke Media Group, we are content creators. Our group is enthusiastic about the field of action sports, and will custom tailor marketing content to suit your individual or company needs.
Company founder, Colin Clarke, describes his background and experience with action sports in the following paragraphs.
"Action sports has always been a passion of mine. It all started when I was very young, I became fascinated with all types of cameras at an early age. While in middle school, I operated video cameras that recorded on full size VHS tapes. To start the editing process, we would manually log and capture the tapes on to a hard drive with an extremely ancient version of Avid Cinema. In this era, the editing programs were very basic when compared to today's standards. I continued to experiment with video cameras and video editing on into high school. It has been fascinating to see the progression of technology overtime. My experience has brought me through vast changes in technology, from VHS, to super8, to miniDV, to miniHDV, on to CF cards, SD cards, p2 Hard Drives, micro SD cards and more.
After high school and graduating college, I moved down to Lake Tahoe, CA to peruse my athletic career in snowboarding. All throughout high school and college, snowboarding was always a key recreational activity for me. I entered into a few contests after high school, and started achieving successful results. Throughout college, I started placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in many of the slopestyle and halfpipe contests that I participated in. After some time, the contests enabled me to obtain sponsorships and funding due to my achievements and athletic abilities. This enabled me to travel, compete and focus on snowboarding and academics. Injuries are inevitable in competitive snowboarding, and when I was unable to participate in the contests or video shoots, I was furthering my knowledge of motion graphics, video editing, and camera skills. When unable to compete in snowboarding events due to injury, I'd pick up the camera I had access too at the time, and go out and record and take photos of other athletes at the action sports events. I paid attention too, and studied which angles that the prominent photographers and camera operators filmed and took photos from. My curiosity sparked me to ask other photographers and videographers questions in relation to the technical aspects of video and photo. The other experienced photographers and videographers gave me excellent tips and advice that I proceeded to adapt and use with my personal skill set. In addition to field experience, I have studied a variety of online tutorials and training classes which helped me further develop my skills.
The most revolutionary change in my creative process occurred when I transitioned from PC to Macintosh and started shooting with a CMOS DSLR, the Canon 7d. Before the Canon 7d, my primary focus was video, and I used cameras such as the Canon XL-H1, the GL-2, and cameras similar to the VX-2100. The Canon 7d sparked a revolution in both my videography and photography skills. Due to the Canons high rate of burst of around 8fps for photo, it made the camera ideal for shooting action sports and nature. There was a learning curve associated with the Canon 7d, and I studied various online course to learn how to appropriately use it and understand its features. While learning how to use this DSLR, I started my tutorial training programs on Lynda.com software training for Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator and Cinema 4d. The online courses furthered my knowledge in video, media and design.
Eventually, I got to the point where people started to seek my photography and videography skills in action sports market. Several companies around the Lake Tahoe area started compensate me for my work. Small gigs turned into steady work, and eventually I got offered a job as a video editor, camera operator and designer on a local TV network.
The opportunity to edit local TV turned out to be amazing, it was an excellent learning experience. I learned techniques on how to render video properly for broadcast, this was a first for me, as I had no former experience in television. The majority of content I created previously was for social media platforms including, Facebook, Youtube, Vimeo and others. I experienced a steep learning curve I was working with television, everything had to be rendered for a particular platform. Title and action safe zones were paramount. Working with a producer was something new that I had no former experience with. The producer and I would travel around the local area together and set up video and photo-shoots with communicant members and business owners. Both the producer and I worked together to create advertizements for a number of local clients including restaurants, hotels, the Chamber of Commerce, tour companies, and more. In addition, we had to come up with intriguing content and new stories for the surrounding area.
In addition to filming, photography and editing video, I discovered that many of my clients and customers needed additional services including motion graphics and animation. I started tinkering with motion graphics and design from an early age. The programs that I experimented with included Rhinoceros-3d and Auto-cad. I progressed into using applications including Cinema 4d and Adobe's After Effects in College. As my skills progressed in these applications, I started to perform graphics services for a variety of action sports clients. Some of my motion graphics work has been used in prominent snowboarding edits, which have been posted to Transworld-Media, snowboardermagazine, Onboard Europe, Method Mag, and more. Most recently, a full length video edit I created was posted to Trans world-snowboarding, this video was a success and was shared across a variety of social media platforms.

Company founder, Colin Clarke, has a unique set of experiences that will help your company achieve its goals. The following series of paragraphs explains his story and experiences.
Experimenting with social media has been an integral part of Colin Clarke's life over the past 10 years. Much of his experience has been in the action sports industry, more specifically snow-sports.
Throughout the past 10 years, Colin has been a brand ambassador for a wide variety of companies including: Solomon, Bonfire, Bataleon snowboards, Stepchild snowboards, Hydroflask, Rockstar energy drink, 3cs outerwear, Trew outerwear, Imperial Motion clothing, Carlton United Breweries, Fyve snowboards, and more.
Colin was a key component in the social media for Carlton United Breweries and Australian Snowboard company, FYVE, for the snow-sports marketing campaigns from 2012-2014. Colin was featured in, and helped create a variety of action sports edits, motion graphics, and photography that was used on billboards, commercials and other marketing applications.
More recently, Colin worked at Ballistyx in Australia, which is the oldest and one of the largest distributors of snowboards and skateboards in the country. Ballistyx is based out of one of Australia's largest cities, Melbourne.
Colin's job at Ballistyx was to experiment with Google Ad-words, Facebook campaigns, blogs, news stories on websites, twitter posts, youtube edits, and more. He was also in charge of creating and updating the websites banners and other web content so that it corresponded with all of the other components of the companies social media campaigns. Colin became familiar with using CoreDNA as a content management system, which was a efficient platform to keep track of website traffic, online sales, customer information, process online payments, and handle logistics. He is also familiar and frequently uses other content management systems such as Wordpress, Drupal, and Squarespace for other projects.
Colin explains describes his situation and experience at Ballistyx in the following paragraphs.
"I was in a unique situation, where I could experiment with advertising, and see a direct relationship between specific types of advertising and how that pushes sales. I could quantitatively measure the effectiveness of various marketing campaigns by promoting a specific product and then keep track of how that impacted sales on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. I was given the autonomy to experiment and with a varied amount of funds to see and analyze how that effected the amount of subscribers reached on platforms such as Facebook. I came up with a variety of strategies to minimize the amount of investment spent, in terms of total dollars spent on advertizing, yet still reach the same amount of subscribers or fans. My goal was to maximize the amount of ROI per dollar spent on Marketing, and the strategies that I developed and practiced out to be effective.
When experimenting with Social Media, I was highly aware of the importance of the interconnectedness across all platforms of media. The posts, and advertisements must be in sync and convey a uniform message across all aspects of social media. The website must be linked to the Facebook, Instagram, twitter, you-tube, blog, and vice-versa. Timing is also paramount on posts, if your company has a global reach, you must time posts so that they correspond to the times that people across the world are most likely to be exposed to your advertisements. A cultural perspective also must be taken into consideration, what may be effective in one country inappropriate in another. Proper tags and keywords also play a critical role, as it helps users find and engage with your content. Developing viral and organic content is also key, as it gives your company a higher degree of creditability in the eyes of the consumer. If your emphasis is too heavy the advertisement, it actually has an adverse affect, as consumers tend to skim over ad-intensive posts and content. Developing organic content that is associated with your company tends to be an important, effective strategy to develop creditability and stimulate customer interaction. It helps content go viral, as customers don't see the advertisement as marketing, they see it as stimulating organic content, which is associated with your brand and stimulates social media engagement and web traffic.
Designing campaigns which stimulate engagement is also another major factor in stimulating brand awareness and customer retention. Product sample give-always or prizes in exchange for engagement provide customers and potential customers with an incentive for interaction. This type of strategy develops a higher degree of organic shares and makes your advertisement more prone to going viral.
Devising strategies to reach your target market is critical in today's age of instant gratification and short attention spans. Captivating today potential consumers requires a greater degree of understanding of who you are marketing too. With the advent of smart phones, customers are being exposed to a larger amount of advertising then ever before in history. All of this sensory overload makes it difficult when trying to captivate there attention. Although it is increasingly challenging, unique and interesting content has the potential to captivate customers toward your products or services.
It is critical to combine advertising with excellent follow up and superb customer service, this helps to maintain consumer loyalty. It is your degree of service that separates you from your competitor, and your competitor is most likely selling the same or comparable service or product. Ensure that your company trains its employees in these strategies."

Words by Colin Clarke:
"Traveling has always been a passion of mine, It helps me feel alive. I strive to live in the present moment and explore the unknown. Working with various language barriers is a challenge that is to be enjoyed. My cumulative life experience has brought me across the world to many exotic locations. From the tropical, to the desert, to the frigid mountain airs on a variety of continents, I enjoy all the varying and dynamic environments spanning the globe. I know I still have much to explore, to see and to discover, and that keeps me motivated and moving forward.
I have lived and worked in Australia: traveled across New Zealand, explored a massive portion of Japan, traveled to China, to Dubai, and have spent much time in Canada. Additionally, I have trekked across the United States on plane, train, automobile, and bike in search of adventure.
The feeling of exhalation and suspense pulsate throughout my body as I leap into the unknown. Exploring ancient temples in the middle of the night in Japan too chasing Kangaroos in a high powered turbocharged Subaru's in Australia have brought me unique experiences which will forever mold how I view and shape the world around me.
Traveling to new places and exploring on ones own allows the redundant complacency of modern day life to dissipate. Childhood curiosity emanates from within, and the inner curiosity is awakened and drives us to explore. Questions as simple as "where does that road lead?" or "whats at the top of that jagged mountain" all become commonplace as you look around your surroundings with wonder. No longer are you familiar with your environment, everything around you has some degree of novelty. I find that traveling heightens ones awareness to be open to change, and new modes of doing tasks. New friends are formed, new and neural networks are stimulated and built with every new area that comes into ones reality. Differences in culture are beautiful. Entire new ways of thinking are developed as one observes and communicates with the locals of various regions.
I see different approaches to solving problems, and how people of various cultures interact and treat one another. A more holistic view of Humanity is constantly being formed as more of the globe is explored. A more fluid, ever changing thought process is constantly modified and is in a state of continual development. Everything is viewed as dynamic, nothing is static.
The more I explore, the more I find the world to be small and interconnected. We only have one Earth, and humans are pushing its capabilities to the limits with excessive consumption and unsustainable practices. Our connection to what provides us sustenance for life is disappearing as more and more humans become detached from the earth. The connection between how the earth is enabling us to live has been lost in the maze of materialism and consumerism. A majority of people are letting social media run there lives, and care more about there digital identity then living everyday in there own reality. Open your eyes, feel the sun, smell the flowers, and take a moment to see what is around you. Although I see this disturbing trend worldwide towards relentless consumerism and egotisim, there still are some humans who I have meet in my travels who are connected to the Earth. They see the valuable and vulnerable relationships between the Earth and our survival as a human race. It will be interesting to see what is to come, as humans as a species are largely reactive, not proactive. Yet despite all of the pessimism, some degree of hope must be retained. Hope that human ingenuity and creativity will come up with modern solutions to solve the worlds complex problems.
Although the human world has many problems to solve, beauty can be found everywhere in varying degrees. It does not matter where your from, or where your traveling too, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I try to find the light in a negative situation, and I celebrate and enjoy positive situations. The complexity of cities as well as the simplicity of nature all offer different types of beauty and can be interpreted at one level or another. Take that leap of faith into the unknown, let the fear of the unknown dissipate."

Our employees are all avid outdoor enthusiasts. Much of us enjoy hiking to remote places little traveled to by other human beings. We enjoy the simplicity of nature, and believe that nothing is kin as to being immersed in it. Taking a moment to simply observe, and look around has been lost in the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives. Many of us are trapped in cities ad rarely get to get outdoors, and remind ourselves of the Earth that sustains us.
Company founder describes his feelings and ideas about nature and photographing different landscapes in the following paragraphs.
Traveling to remote areas of the globe has always been a passion for Colin. "The Planet has much to offer and experience, confining yourself to one geological area limits your overall perspective of the workings of the world. Capturing and freezing a moment in time allows one to reminisce back upon that moment, and provide a means to inspire others. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words, and sometimes it stimulates a call to action.
Nature is astonishing in its ever present beauty. My aim with landscape photography is to capture the moment, so that people can experience the photograph not only with there eyes, but with there imagination. I want people to imagine the serenity, to smell the flowers, to hear the sounds of the surrounding wildlife, and get an idea of what its like to experience that particular location without actually going there."
These photographs remind us as individuals that we are guests on this planet. The power of nature is astonishing, it enables us to survive, but can also destroy and result in our demise. "Photography of landscapes has enabled me to see and understand how insignificant and short the human lifespan actually is. Enjoy life while we are here, as we only exist for a very short amount of time when it is compared to the age of the Earth and the Universe."

"I frequently observe occurrences that provoke wonder, and no matter how hard you try, no complete understanding or reason can explain these random patterns of behavior in animals, plants, nature, and more."
